The Effect of a 12 Week Whole Body Vibration Training on Some Physical Fitness Parameters of Sedentary Female Students

Abstract

Aim: This study aimed to expose the effect of whole body vibration training
for 12 weeks on some physical fitness characteristics of sedentary female
students.

Material and Methods: Sixty volunteer sedentary female students (average
age=21,23 ± 3,77) were included in the study. Participants were randomly
assigned to groups of 20: Whole Body Vibration Training Group (WBVTG), Whole
Body Vibration Free Training Group (WBVFTG) and Control Group (KG). The
training was continued for 4 days a week with having a break on alternate days.
Body fat (BF), body mass index (BMI), skinfold (S), body fat percentage (BFP),
back strength (SK), leg strength (LS), right (RHGS) and left hand grip strength
(LHGS), vertical jump (VJ) and blood lactate difference (BLD) measurements were
applied to the participants as pre, mid and post-test. The obtained data
analysis was done by ANOVA for comparison of related groups and by one-way
ANOVA for comparison of unrelated repeated measurements.

Findings: There was a significant in group difference in BW, BMI, BFP,
RHGS, BS and BLD in WBVFTG when WBVTG showed same results in BW, BMI, BFP, RHGS
and LHGS, BS, LG, VJ and BLD. Between groups comparisons for the pre-test in
RHGS, BD; for mid-test BW, BMI, RHGS, LHGS, BS, LP, VJ; for the post-test BLD
were determined.







Results: Both trainings
(WBVT, WBVF) have crucial effects on some physical fitness parameters. But the
effect after WBVT put forward acute effects when compared to WBVFT.

12 Haftalık Tüm Vücut Titreşim Antrenmanının Sedanter Kadın Öğrencilerin Bazı Fiziksel Uygunluk Özelliklerine Etkisi

Abstract

Amaç:
Bu çalışmanın amacı, 12 haftalık tüm vücut titreşim antrenmanının sedanter kadın
öğrencilerin bazı fiziksel uygunluk özelliklerine etkisini incelemektir.

Materyal
ve Yöntem: Çalışmaya, 60 gönüllü sedanter öğrenci (yaş ortalaması=21,23±3,77)
katılmıştır. Katılımcılar rassal olarak 20’şerli gruplara ayrılmışlardır: Tüm
Vücut Titreşimli Antrenman Grubu (TVTAG), Tüm Vücut Titreşimsiz Antrenman Grubu
(TVTSAG) ve Kontrol Grubu (KG). Antrenman, haftada 4 gün 1’er gün arayla
sürdürülmüştür. Katılımcılara ön-test, ara-test ve son-test tarihlerinde vücut
ağırlığı (VA), vücut kitle indeksi (VKİ), deri altı yağ kalınlığı (S) vücut yağ
yüzdesi (VYY), sırt kuvveti (SK), bacak kuvveti (BK), sağ el kavrama kuvveti
(EKKsağ), sol el kavrama kuvveti (EKKsol), dikey sıçrama (DS) ve kan laktat
farkı (KLF) ölçümleri yapılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler SPSS programında analiz
edilmiş bağımlı grupların karşılaştırılmasında tekrarlı ölçümler için (repeated
mesurement) ANOVA, bağımsız grupların karşılaştırmasında tek yönlü varyans
analizi (ANOVA) kullanılmıştır.

Bulgular:
Grup içi ölçümlerine göre TVTAG grubunda VA, VKİ, VYY, EKKsağ, EKKsol, SK, BK,
DS ve KLF’de anlamlı fark oluşurken TVTSAG’de VA, VKİ, VYY, EKKsağ, SK ve
KLF’de farka rastlanmıştır. Gruplar arası ilk ölçümlerin karşılaştırılmasında
EKKsağ, ikinci ölçümlerde, EKKsağ ve KLF, son ölçümlerde VA, VKİ, EKKsağ,
EKKsol, SK, BK, DS ve KLF puan ortalamalarında anlamlı fark belirlenmiştir.

Sonuçlar:
Her iki antrenmanın (TVTAG, TVTSAG) fiziksel uygunluk parametrelerine önemli
etkisi vardır. Ancak TVTA’nın akut etkisi vardır.
