Abstract
Demans, dünya çapında yaşlılar arasında engelliliğin ve bağımlılığın başlıca nedenlerinden biridir. Demansın en yaygın nedeni olan Alzheimer hastalığı, birey ve toplum için önemli etkileri olan küresel bir halk sağlığı sorunudur. Beklenen yaşam sürelerinin uzaması ve yaşlanan nüfusla birlikte hastalığın öneminin giderek artması, Alzheimer hastalığına yönelik korunma stratejilerini gündeme getirmektedir. Alzheimer hastalığının önüne geçilmesinde en önemli yol, birincil korunma kapsamında risk faktörlerine yönelik önlemlerin alınması ve hastalığın oluşmasının engellenmesidir. Hastalığın erken dönemi, demansı önlemek veya geciktirmek açısından önemli bir fırsattır. Hastalığın mümkün olduğunca erken evrede tespit edilmesi ve gerekli tedavinin bir an önce başlanması, ilerlemenin önüne geçmede önem taşımaktadır. Uygun tedavi ve bakım yaklaşımları ile hastaların bilişsel ve fiziksel fonksiyonlarının korunması ve komplikasyonların önlenmesi mümkündür. Bu derlemenin amacı, Alzheimer hastalığına yönelik birincil, ikincil ve üçüncül korunma stratejileri çerçevesinde güncel tanı ve tedavi yaklaşımları, hasta bakımı ve bakım veren sağlığı ile risk faktörleri ve korunma yolları hakkında bilgi vererek hastalığı bu kapsamda Halk Sağlığı yaklaşımıyla değerlendirmektir.

Abstract
Dementia is one of the major causes of disability and dependency among the elderly worldwide. Alzheimer's disease, the most common cause of dementia, is a global public health problem with significant implications for the individual and society. The prolongation of life expectancy and the increasing importance of the disease with the aging population brings up prevention strategies for Alzheimer's disease. The most important way to prevent Alzheimer's disease is to take precautions for risk factors and prevent the disease from occurring within the scope of primary prevention. The early stage of the disease is an important opportunity to prevent or delay dementia. It is important to detect the disease as early as possible and to initiate the necessary treatment as soon as possible to prevent progress. With appropriate treatment and care approaches, it is possible to protect the cognitive and physical functions of patients and prevent complications. The aim of this review is to provide information about the current diagnosis and treatment approaches, patient care and caregiver health, risk factors and prevention methods within the framework of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention strategies for Alzheimer's disease, and to evaluate the disease in this context with a Public Health approach.
