Relationship between Speed, Agility, Jumping and Repetitive Sprint Performance in Young Male Basketball Players

Öz

Aim: This study investigated the relationship between speed, agility, jumping, and repeated sprint performance in young male basketball players. Methods: The study sample consisted of 20 young male basketball players (age: 16.00 ± 0.56; height: 173.35 ± 6.34; weight: 65.49 ± 6.67). The study measured 5 m and 10 m sprints, T-Test agility, countermovement Jump (CMJ), squat jump (SQJ), and repeated sprint ability tests. SPSS 26 statistical software was used to analyze the data. Results: According to the findings of the study, there was a significant positive correlation between T Test and 5m (p<0.01; r = .682) and between SQJ and CMJ (p<0.01; r = .678). There was a significant negative relationship between CMJ and T-Test (p<0.05; r = -.523) and between SQJ and T-Test (p<0.05; r = 458). Conclusion: The results of this study emphasize that valuable insights into the multifaceted nature of physical performance in young male basketball players. Coaches and trainers may consider these relationships when designing training programs to enhance specific aspects of performance, tailoring interventions based on individual player profiles.

Öz

Amaç: Bu çalışmanın amacı genç erkek basketbolcularda sürat, çeviklik, sıçrama ve tekrarlı sprint performansı ilişkisini incelemektir. Yöntem: Araştırmanın örneklemini 20 genç erkek basketbol oyuncusu (yaş: 16.00 ± 0.56; boy: 173.35 ± 6.34; kilo: 65.49 ± 6.67) gönüllü olarak oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmada 5 metre ve 10 metre sürat, T Testi çeviklik, karşı hareket sıçraması, skuat karşı hareket sıçraması ve tekrarlı sprint yeteneği testleri ölçülmüştür. Verilerin analizinde SPSS 26 istatistik programı kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Çalışmanın bulgularına göre T Testi ile 5m (p<0.01; r = .682), SKHS ile KHS (p<0.01; r = .678) arasında pozitif yönde anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu görülmüştür. KHS ile T Testi (p<0.05; r = -.523), SKHS ile T testi (p<0.05; r = 458) arasında ise negatif yönlü anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Sonuç: Bu çalışmanın sonuçları, genç erkek basketbolcularda fiziksel performansın çok yönlü doğasına ilişkin değerli bilgiler sağlamaktadır. Antrenörler ve eğitmenler, performansın belirli yönlerini geliştirmek için antrenman programları tasarlarken bu ilişkileri göz önünde bulundurabilir ve müdahaleleri bireysel oyuncu profillerine göre uyarlayabilir.
