Aim: This study investigated the relationship between agility, jumping, and repeated sprint performance of young female volleyball players.
Methods: The study sample consisted of 20 young female volleyball players (age: 16.55±1.10; height: 163.95±4.39; weight: 54.16±8.03) as volunteers. In the study, anthropometric measurements, sprint, T-test agility, countermovement jump, squat jump, and repeated sprint ability tests were measured as performance tests. SPSS 26 statistical software was used to analyze the data.
Results: According to the findings of the study, it was determined that there was a significant negative correlation between weight and, squat jump (p<0.05; r=-0.512) and body mass index and squat jump (p<0.01; r=-0.593). There was a positive significant relationship between T-test agility and 5m sprint (p<0.01; r=0.795) and 10m sprint (p<0.01; r=0.681). There was a significant negative correlation between countermovement jump and 5m sprint (p<0.01; r=-0.644), countermovement jump and 10m sprint (p<0.01; r=0.609), and countermovement jump and T-test agility (p<0.01; r=-0.651) and a significant negative correlation between squat jump and 5m sprint (p<0.01; r=-0.569), between squat jump and 10m sprint (p<0.01; r=0.629) and between squat jump and T-test agility (p<0.01; r=-0.649).
Conclusion: The results of this study provide important conclusions about the multifaceted nature of the physical performance of young female volleyball players. Coaches and athletes can consider these relationships in their training programmes to improve specific performance areas and adapt the exercise protocols to individual player profiles.
