Year 2023, Volume: 6 Issue: 1, 28 - 37, 30.07.2023

Abstract

This study aimed to synthesize studies on the effects of performance tests on talent selection in basketball and to gather them under a single roof. The results of the study are important in terms of highlighting which tests give healthier and more reliable results in basketball talent selection. The method of the research was determined as meta-synthesis, one of the qualitative research methods. In this context, scientific research articles on performance tests and basketball talent selection were examined. The results and recommendations of the studies published until May 2023 on the subject in Google Scholar, Pubmed and Dergipark database constitute the findings of this research. As a result of the research, it was concluded that the performance tests, whose validity and reliability have been proven, directly affect the selection of talent in basketball. The results were interpreted and discussed within the framework of the purpose of the research, and some suggestions were made for future studies.
